Journalism contest
Deadline: October 1, 2022
Journalism organizations and journalists are invited to nominate themselves or their colleagues for the Fetisov Journalism Awards, which recognizes reporters for their contribution to promoting universal human values. Entries must have been published between June 1, 2021 and May 31, 2022.
Science journalism fellowship
Deadline: October 2, 2022
The Falling Walls Foundation is seeking journalists to apply for its fellowship to attend the Falling Walls Science Summit in Berlin, Germany. The program covers travel, accommodation, per diem expenses and research costs.

Social issues video contest
Deadline October 7, 2022
Filmmakers and activists can submit their work to the Social Impact Media Awards, which recognizes documentaries and videos that inspire activism, compassion and social transformation. Films must have been completed between October 2021 and September 2022. Winners will receive cash prizes and more.
Early-career journalism fellowship
Deadline: October 9, 2022
Training for Good is accepting applications for the Tarbell Fellowship. Fellows will receive mentorship from experienced journalists, stipends and more. Early-career reporters are eligible to apply.
Short film festival
Deadline: October 10, 2022
Professional and amateur filmmakers can submit their short films to the Knowmad Short Film Festival, organized by the Knowmad Institut and the North Cinema Guild. Entries must be made after March 2020, be no more than seven minutes long, and should not be posted on any online platform before their festival screening.
Sports media contest
Deadline: October 14, 2022
The International Sport Press Association is accepting submissions for its 2022 Sport Media Awards. Sports journalists can submit their work to the writing, photography, audio and video categories for a chance to win cash prizes and scholarships. Works must have been published between Nov. 5, 2021 and Oct. 14, 2022.
Photojournalism contest
Deadline: October 25, 2022
Photojournalists and multimedia teams can submit their work to the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar’s photography competition. All photographs must have been captured between Oct. 21, 2021 and Oct. 20, 2022 (with exceptions for picture story entries). Each category winner will receive US$100 and more.
Travel photography contest
Deadline: October 25, 2022
The Travel Photography of the Year Awards is seeking entries from professional and amateur photographers. Participants can submit their work to four portfolio categories for a chance to receive cash prizes and gifts from sponsors.
