Professional visual journalists can submit digital projects to a contest.
The World Press Photo Digital Storytelling Contest seeks entries that include professional photography in combination with, but not limited to, audio and visual elements like video, animation, graphics, illustrations, sound or text.
The contest has four format-based categories: singles, stories, long-term projects and open format. These format-based categories encompass all thematic categories from previous contests – such as general news, spot news, contemporary issues, environment, nature, sports, portraits – therefore entries on a wide range of themes may be submitted to the appropriate format-based category.
Winners will be invited to a winners' event. The winners of Photo of the Year, Photo Story of the Year, Photo Long-Term Project Award and the Photo Open Format Award will also receive EUR5,000 (US$5,441) each.
Entries must have been published in 2023 in English or with English subtitles.
The deadline is Jan. 11, 2024.
