Indian and Pakistani journalists with experience in climate reporting can apply for this hybrid workshop.
The East-West Center is hosting a cross-border journalism workshop and collaborative reporting series between Jan. 7-13, 2024, in Kathmandu, Nepal, for 10 Pakistani and 10 Indian journalists experienced in reporting on climate issues.
The selected journalists will work together as teams on collaborative cross-border media stories on climate change and sustainability, to be published or broadcast in both countries by Apr. 14, 2024. Their projects must include discussions of cross-border climate solutions and shared challenges.
Each cross-border team will start to map out stories in virtual workshops before gathering in Kathmandu, where participants will take part in various sessions on reporting skills.
Interested applicants must be working print, broadcast, or online journalists from Pakistan and India, with at least five years of journalism experience, including substantive reporting on climate issues.
Team members of the top two collaborative stories meeting high professional standards, deadlines, and all program requirements will also have the opportunity to attend the 2024 East-West Center International Media Conference in Manila, Jun. 23-26, 2024 and a post-conference cross-border dialogue on Jun. 27, 2024.
Apply by Oct. 9.
