Workshop and story grants to cover water governance [Mekong region]

Journalists from and based in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand or Vietnam can apply for this funded in-person workshop.

With support from Oxfam, Internews' Earth Journalism Network (EJN) Asia-Pacific is hosting a three-day media workshop and offers story grants for reporting on Mekong water governance from a gender and social inclusion perspective. The program aims to strengthen women’s and marginalized people’s voices in media reports on water governance in the Mekong River basin.

Fifteen selected journalists from Mekong countries will attend the workshop, to be held tentatively between Sept. 13 to15. The journalists will receive US$1,200 story grants and participate in a mentorship program.

The workshop will be held in Nong Khai province, Northeast of Thailand, with a one-day field trip on Sept. 14 in Sangkhom District, Nong Khai province.
