Workshop and story grants to cover natural resources governance [Mekong region]

Posted on May 12, 2023 in Environmental Reporting

Journalists from and based in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand or Vietnam can apply for this media workshop.

In collaboration with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Internews' Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is hosting a three-day media workshop and offering story grants for reporting on Mekong natural resources governance in Thailand in early July.

Twenty-five journalists from Lower Mekong countries will be selected to attend the workshop to deepen their understanding of the region’s transboundary natural resource issues on four focal themes: renewable energy, rivers and freshwater conservation, transboundary infrastructure investments and civic space.

Participating journalists will be invited to pitch story ideas that explore natural resource governance issues and local initiatives in the region. Sixteen grants of US$1,500 each will be awarded and grantees will receive mentorship.

Journalists with experience in covering environmental issues are welcome to apply.

Apply by May 21.
