Journalists working in print, digital and broadcast can apply, and budgets can range from US$5,000 to US$25,000 for travel document fees, compensation and more.
The project is named for journalist Wayne Barrett who worked for the Village Voice and became known for exposing major political figures through diligent reporting.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and will be evaluated monthly.
