Thomson Reuters offers course on conflict reporting [Ukraine]

Ukrainian journalists with at least two years of work experience, as well as prior experience in covering conflicts, can apply for this program.

The Thomson Reuters Foundation is offering an intensive online course on reporting on prolonged conflicts.

The course will start Sept. 6 and run for nine weeks – till Nov. 5. The program includes the opportunity to receive reporting mini-grants of up to GBP£350.

The program focuses on the implementation of the principles of conflict coverage and the identification of new topics, angles, and formats while covering long-term conflicts. Topics include the basis of conflict coverage, work with open sources, physical and digital safety, trauma and emotional safety, and others.

The program will be held in Ukrainian and Russian.

The deadline is Aug. 19.
