Young journalists fluent in English and interested in development issues can apply for this program.

The Thomson Reuters Foundation, with support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is organizing Generation Africa, a six-day training aimed at developing storytellers who can inspire change on a global platform.

The training will cover communication techniques, public speaking and presentation skills, effective use of social media, handling the media and more. Participants will then be paired with a mentor to work on individual areas of development and share their stories.

The second of three annual cohorts is accepting candidates. The training program will take place late February/early March 2020 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Applicants must submit a compelling personal story related to health, development and poverty reduction illustrating a challenge faced by others living in Africa.
