Symposium focuses on radio and democracy [Brazil]

Journalism professionals, academics and students are invited to participate in Brazil's National Symposium on Radio. 

The event, hosted by the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT, in Portuguese) and Intercom, will take place May 5 to 7, 2021 in Cuiabá.  The main theme is "100 years of radio: democracy and citizenship on sound waves."

The program features lectures, debates, panels, workshops and presentations of academic papers. Topics include radio, podcasting and convergence; radio journalism; radio, politics, human rights and citizenship; radio, gender and diversity; college radio; and more.

The deadline to submit papers is Feb. 12, 2021.

Registration is ongoing and costs BRL35 to BRL80.
