Journalists based in Asia Pacific, with an interest in sustainability issues, can apply for this free in-person training.
The Sustainability Media Academy (SMA), an initiative for seasoned and aspiring journalists in Asia, is accepting applications for its third season of training workshops. This year, the academy highlights vital topics in the region, such as data journalism, diversity in climate reporting, artificial intelligence and Asia’s sustainable development transition.
The program will feature a three-day masterclass in Singapore in September for all to attend and a series of satellite workshops in Thailand and Indonesia, respectively in September and October, to be held in the local languages. Selected participants will be able to discuss and learn about key issues in their local contexts in these workshops.
Participants will also get the opportunity to network and collaborate with each other and with experts from across media, academia, business and policy.
The program is free for selected participants. Some selected applicants from the region will be provided with travel and accommodation to join the Singapore masterclass.
Apply by Aug. 20.
