Undergraduate and graduate journalism students can compete in a video contest.

The National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) is accepting entries for its Student Video Contest. This competition was created as a stepping stone to NPPA’s professional TV contest.

Students may enter work done during internships or while freelancing. Videos need not be published or broadcast to be entered and must have been completed between Jan. 1 to June 30, 2022.

Categories for video submission include: spot news, general news, news feature, in-depth/investigative, sports, and program.

Points will be awarded in each category. The title Student Video Journalist of the Year will be awarded to the student journalist who accumulates the most points.

Eligible applicants must be NPPA student members.

The deadline is July 31.
