College newspapers covering the U.S. presidential election can enter a competition.
The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) is offering The Liberty Awards. The awards will recognize the best printed election previews distributed on college campus between Oct. 1 and Oct. 31, ahead of the 2024 U.S presidential election.
The election edition should explain who’s running for local and state offices; offer news, opinions and/or analysis of those races; tell readers how and where to vote, and stress the importance of doing so.
Entries can be submitted in four categories. The staff of the winning editions will receive US$250 in each category.
The deadline is Nov. 1.
