Journalists and organizations in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia and Georgia can apply for this fund.
The fund will initially focus on reporting the historic 2020 election, uprisings and coronavirus pandemic from the perspective of marginalized and oppressed people.
Individuals can receive grants of US$5,000 and organizations, US$15,000.
The deadline for the first round is Oct. 2 to receive funds by Oct. 30.
The deadline for the second round is Oct. 23 to receive funds by Nov. 18.
