Australia-based journalists interested in Asian politics and democracy can join this free event in Sydney.
The University of Sydney's United States Studies Centre (USSC) and the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) are hosting a special event to hear from leaders across the region about the state of democracy and how aligned countries can work together.
The event will take place on April 4 and feature a keynote address by Australian economist Professor Sean Turnell, followed by an expert panel discussion on regional approaches to supporting democracy.
The panel will also report on the Sydney round of the Sunnylands Initiative, co-sponsored by the NED and USSC, to assess the state of democracy in the Indo-Pacific and identify pathways to strengthen democratic partnerships.
