Self-directed course on COVID-19 fact-checking available [Latin America]

Journalists and journalism students can access this free course in Spanish, Portuguese and Guaraní.

The Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas, in partnership with UNESCO, has made the course "Disinformation & Fact-Checking in Times of COVID-19 in Latin America and the Caribbean" available in self-directed format.

Instructor Cristina Tardáguila guides participants on how to combat the misinformation and disinformation that has spread during the pandemic.

Topics include the history of fact-checking and fact-checking organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean; how to start a fact-checking unit; basic tools used by fact-checkers; and an overview of regulation around the world.

Registration is not necessary.
