Scientific American seeks science news reporter [US]

Posted on Nov 21, 2022 in Specialized Topics

Science journalists with at least two years of experience can apply for this position in New York or Washington.

Scientific American is hiring a general science news reporter who can immediately jump on the news of the day—whether it’s a dinosaur discovery, a natural disaster or disease outbreak, a debate in particle physics, a political development or a cultural trend that could use a science explainer.

Interested journalists must have a keen eye for what makes a compelling science news story, enthusiasm for all fields of science and the ability to work on tight deadlines.

The science news reporter will work closely with Scientific American’s beat editors and editorial staff.

The salary range is US$69,000 to US$73,000.

The deadline is Dec. 9.
