Media lawyers, policy makers and media professionals from around the globe can apply.

The Centre for Socio-Legal Studies at the University of Oxford is accepting applications for the Oxford Media Policy Summer Institute.

This year’s summer institute will focus on several core themes, including AI for development and human rights, its growing application in anticipating crises, the role of technology in conflict, and the regulation of new technologies, including AI and social media.

Speakers and participants from around the world will explore these themes in the context of 2024’s year of elections and the pressures facing a range of polities.

Tuition for the Oxford Summer Institute is GBP1,900 (US$2,418). A few full and partial tuition waivers are available for top applicants from institutions in mid or low-income countries.

The early-decision deadline is March 24. The regular deadline is April 24.
