Journalists, photographers and creators of visual content residing in Mexico can apply for this opportunity.

Perro Crónico and Universidad Iberoamericana organize the Prende scholarship on cultural subversion and queer narratives. The aim of the program is to contribute to a critical and humanist journalism through the provision of narrative tools and techniques for reporting non-fiction stories.

Selected candidates will enroll in five undergraduate and graduate classes during a semester at Universidad Iberoamericana. Three of these subjects are compulsory: narrative journalism, investigative journalism and critical analysis of society.

The scholarship also offers workshops on reporting and producing texts and audiovisual stories.

The scholarship will run Jan. 11 to May 15. The best journalistic project at the end of the semester will receive a cash award.

The deadline is Dec. 9.
