Journalists based in the Middle East and North Africa, or cover the region on a regular basis, can participate in these safety training courses.
The ACOS Alliance, in partnership with the Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism (ARIJ) and the Gulf Center for Human Rights (GCHR) and others, is offering free access to two safety training courses provided by experienced media safety trainers.
The courses, available in English and Arabic, will take place in-person only in Lebanon. They are designed to help journalists exposed to safety challenges in their work to be better prepared.
Selected participants will be able to attend the courses between November and December 2022.
Course fees and accommodation are covered. A limited number of travel grants are available to eligible applicants based in the region.
Priority will be given to freelance journalists and those who have not completed a safety training course before.
The deadline to apply is Sept. 1.
