Reporting trips to Ukraine [US, France, Germany]

Posted on Dec 17, 2024 in Multimedia Journalism

Women and nonbinary journalists from the United States, France and Germany can apply for a reporting trip.

The International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) is launching the Women on the Ground: Reporting from Ukraine’s Unseen Frontlines program to increase and deepen coverage of critical issues surrounding the war. As part of this program, the IWMF will lead reporting trips to Ukraine.

The first reporting trip will take place Feb. 12 to 26, 2025. Selected journalists will begin their trip in Warsaw, Poland, before traveling to the base location in Ukraine.

Fellows will have the opportunity to network with other journalists, report collaboratively with their peers, and gain access to various sources and sites related to their reporting. Story pitches should explore underreported issues in Ukraine, with a focus on communities impacted by the war that are important to local communities in the United States, France or Germany.

The program covers travel, lodging and meals for participants.

The deadline is Jan. 5, 2025.
