Journalists and freelancers can apply for grants to cover water issues.
The Water Desk, an initiative of the Center for Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado Boulder, is offering grants to support the coverage of water issues connected to New Mexico and the Rio Grande.
Since water is intertwined with so many issues, proposals covering the following topics are welcome: climate change, biodiversity, pollution, public health, environmental justice, food, agriculture, drinking water, economics, recreation and more.
Successful applicants will receive grants ranging from US$2,500 to US$10,000.
Grantees must publish the work outlined in their proposals within six months of receiving funding.
The deadline is April 17.
