Reporters Without Borders seeks bureau chief [Senegal]

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) is recruiting a bureau chief in Dakar, Senegal.

The bureau chief will report to the CEO of RSF, liaise with the Africa Office based in France and be assisted by an advocacy officer. They will be responsible for the bureau and for developing the organization's actions and reputation by ensuring daily monitoring of the state of the freedom of information in the area in order to guarantee daily advocacy through various publications and work with local authorities.

Candidates must have several years of experience as a journalist and be sensitive to the issue of freedom and independence of the press. They should have excellent communication skills, both written and oral. They must also have a thorough knowledge of the countries in the area (Senegal, Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo and Benin).
