Faculty, independent scholars and graduate students who have training in religious studies, theology, biblical studies or a related field can apply.
The Religion News Service, in partnership with Sacred Writes, is looking for a scholar to focus on a series about new religious movements.
The selected scholar will work with journalist Liz Kineke to shape and report the stories in the series. The collaboration will last three months and pay US$2,000.
Applicants should have contacts in religious communities and/or faith-based organizations, and be able to collaborate on pitching, reporting and writing for a broad audience.
The priority deadline is June 5.
