Experienced journalists based in Auckland, Blenheim, Gisborne, Christchurch, Rangiora, Tauranga and Nelson can apply for reporter positions at Radio New Zealand (RNZ).
The local democracy reporter positions are supported by RNZ and NZ On Air’s Public Interest Journalism Fund. Reporters will be placed in regional newsrooms around New Zealand, including Stuff, The Gisborne Herald, Pacific Media Network, Allied Press, Sun Media and Top South Media.
The successful candidates will cover local authorities and other publicly-funded organizations and come up with their own stories on similar topics.
The reporters will receive extra training and support from RNZ and their work will be made available to all of the program's media partners.
The application deadline is Oct. 27.
