ProPublica seeks research reporter [US]

Journalists with a demonstrated history of newsroom work, preferably in a local setting, can apply for this position.

ProPublica is looking for a part-time research reporter for its Local Reporting Network. The position can be based can be based anywhere in the United States and comes with full benefits.

The research reporter will help local journalists find the public records that will shape their story. 

Candidates must have experience with or a strong enthusiasm for public records, databases such as LexisNexis and Pacer, and FOIA requests. Data skills and fluency in languages other than English — especially Spanish — are a plus.

The deadline is July 31.
