Aspiring and entrepreneurial journalists can apply for this career accelerator program.
The Poynter Institute and Stand Together Fellowships organize the Poynter-Koch Media & Journalism Fellowship. The next program will begin in the summer.
Fellows are placed in the newsroom of a participating organization and gather virtually each week to engage in robust coursework, such as media training and workshops. They will have access to faculty in the field and courses on First Amendment law, foundations of a free press, media ethics, reporting/storytelling techniques and more.
A total of 60 early-career journalists will be selected. The average salary is US$50,000.
The deadline to apply is March 10.
