Beginner journalists interested in politics, policy and digital journalism can apply for this fellowship in Washington.
The American Prospect is offering the Writing Fellows Program, an opportunity for journalists at the beginning of their career to spend two years at the magazine developing their journalistic skills. The fellowship will take place September 2019 to 2011.
Ideal candidates will have strong writing and analytical abilities and be as comfortable generating article ideas as they are relying on assignments. A passion for politics, policy and digital journalism is a prerequisite. Prior journalism experience is not required. People of color and women are strongly encouraged to apply.
The fellowship pays US$38,000 a year and includes health, dental and vision benefits.
The deadline is June 30.
