Photojournalists worldwide can compete in this contest.
The Carmignac Foundation is accepting applications for the 15th annual Carmignac Photojournalism Award. The foundation awards those who wish to go where others will not, visiting zones that are largely ignored by the mainstream media.
This year's competition is dedicated to Southeast Asia and the violations of human and environmental rights caused by illegal fishing and overfishing.
The winner will receive a EUR50,000 (US$54,225) grant to support in the implementation, production and promotion of an in-depth photo series. The foundation promotes the award with a touring exhibition and the publication of a monograph.
The application deadline is Aug. 19.
