Pictures of the Year International (POYi) recognizes excellence in photojournalism, multimedia and visual editing that engages citizens worldwide.
This year's new categories include COVID-19 News Picture Story and COVID-19 Personal Expression as well as Impact 2020: Election Season, Impact 2020: Protests and Movements, and Local Team Picture Story of the Year.
Winners will receive plaques, trophies and cash prizes. Top premier winners will receive US$1,000.
Photographs entered must have been taken or published for the first time, either in print or online, in 2020. The entry fee is US$50.
The deadline is Jan. 18, 2021.
