Journalists and researchers with an interest in data journalism are eligible for a fellowship.

The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), in partnership with Opening Extractives, is offering its Research and Data Fellowship. This eight-week hybrid program kicks off with in-person training sessions, Nov. 1 to 12, at OCCRP’s global headquarters in Amsterdam.

Six to eight fellows will be selected for the program. Fellow will be paired with a mentor who will help them hone their data and research skills while developing a story idea.

Three fellows will be chosen from Armenia, Ecuador, Ghana, Mongolia, Nigeria, the Philippines and Zambia. The remaining three to five fellows will be chosen from any country.

To apply, applicants must submit a journalistic story idea with a strong OSINT, research or data aspect.

The program covers travel, visa and accommodation costs, and provides a small stipend for the kick off sessions in Amsterdam.

The application deadline is Sept. 29.
