Interested authors aged 35 or younger, residing in the U.S., can submit entries for this competition.
Universidad Portátil, the New York International Book Fair, the Center for Mexican Studies at CUNY and El País US edition are accepting entries for the Premio Nuevas Plumas Estados Unidos, a Spanish-language non-fiction contest open to any topic.
Unpublished pieces of up to 17,000 characters, including spaces, are welcome. The winner will receive US$2,000 and their work will be published in El País. The 15 finalists will also be featured in a book.
The deadline to apply is May 12.
