Latin American authors with unpublished nonfiction works in Spanish or Portuguese can enter this competition.
The Independent Latin America Nonfiction Award, organized by independent publishers from Latin America and Spain, invites authors to submit texts that explore the current crisis and changes in the region.
The winner will have his or her book published by Alquimia (Chile), El Cuervo (Bolivia), Fósforo (Brazil), Godot (Argentina), Libros del Fuego (Venezuela), Luna Libros (Colombia), Elefanta (Mexico), El Fakir (Ecuador), Trabalis (Puerto Rico), Barrett (Spain) and Criatura (Uruguay).
Works must have a minimum of 28,000 words and a maximum of 130,000. Authors whose work has been previously published by any of the organizing publishers may not participate.
The deadline is Feb. 15, 2021.
