Experienced journalists worldwide who are interested in AI and fluent in English can apply for training.
The Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, with support from Microsoft, launches the AI Journalism Lab: Leadership and the AI Journalism Lab: Adoption. The labs allow journalists to explore journalistic possibilities for generative AI and help shape the conversation around this emerging technology.
The labs are hybrid and tuition-free. They are also three months long, include a mandatory in-person session in New York followed by online classes, and require the completion of a capstone project guided by coaches.
The AI J-Lab: Leadership runs January to April 2025. The AI J-Lab: Adoption runs April to July 2025.
Applicants must submit an idea of an AI challenge to be research or experimented with during the program and thoughtful answers to why they want to participate in one of the labs.
The deadline is Oct. 18.
