U.S. and international reporters who cover politics can apply for the program "Covering the statehouse in a time of crisis."
The National Press Foundation is organizing a series of online workshops to help journalists master their coverage of state legislatures.
The fellowship consists of Friday training sessions, on Feb. 5, 12 19, and 26; March 5, 19 and 26; and April 2; followed by additional summer sessions.
Topics include localizing federal datasets; putting the impact of the federal government into context; covering Congress and the White House from afar; fact-checking, community engagement and solutions journalism; and making the most of TV or Zoom appearances.
The deadline has been extended to Jan. 28, 2021.
