U.S. and international reporters who cover Washington for any media outlet can apply for the program.

The National Press Foundation sponsors the Paul Miller Washington Reporting Fellowship, a nine-month seminar program to brief reporters about Washington agencies, institutions and organizations. It also provides journalists with fresh sources, story ideas and the opportunity to get to know and learn from other journalists.

Starting Aug. 26, journalists meet once a month for a daylong seminar about a different topic. In addition to learning innovative online tools, fellows take field trips to Capitol Hill, the Supreme Court, the Pentagon and other institutions.

The deadline to apply is July 22.
