Journalists covering migration issues in South America can enter this contest.
The IOM Regional Office in South America organizes the South American Migration Journalism Award.
The award recognizes outstanding stories that shed light on how migration drives sustainable development, that consider the gender dimensions of migration, and work against false and discriminatory narratives through balanced, evidence-based reporting.
Entries must have been published or broadcast Jan. 1, 2020 to April 30, 2021.
Ten winners will receive US$800 each to develop a story on migration and sustainable development. The projects will be mentored by experts from the Gabo Foundation.
The deadline is June 18.
