Migration and Technology Fellowship seeks displaced journalists [Worldwide]

Posted on Dec 6, 2024 in Specialized Topics

Displaced or exiled journalists can apply for this year-long fellowship program.

The Migration & Technology Monitor's third edition of its annual Migration and Technology Fellowship Program is seeking journalists with lived experiences of migration to actively contribute to research, storytelling, policy-making, and advocacy related to migration and technology.

The program aims to foster a collaborative community committed to border and migration justice, and is open to displaced, migrating, or forcibly occupied journalists and community members who are interested in exploring how technology is used in the context of migration.

Fellows are required to participate in monthly webinars, which provide training on project development, ethical storytelling, public outreach, and other essential topics. These sessions also feature guest speakers who aim to learn from and connect with the fellows.

Fellows are expected to present their projects at a public event, such as a conference or workshop, to expand their professional networks.

Fellows will each receive a stipend of US$30,000 for a 12-month period, running from April  2025 to May 2026.

Apply by Dec. 31.
