Independent journalists can apply for these grants.
Brazilian news outlet Ponte Jornalismo and ONG Instituto Sou da Paz are seeking reporting proposals for their program Comunidades Vivas.
The program is funding and publishing stories on the best practices and solutions intended at improving public safety in underprivileged areas. There are five BRL2,500 microgrants available.
Applicants should pitch a story providing preliminary research, sources, formats (text, video or audio), project timeline and budget.
The application deadline is May 7.
