Media workshop covers marine pollution reporting [Worldwide]

Posted on Apr 25, 2023 in Environmental Reporting

Journalists, preferably from coastal countries, can participate in a virtual media workshop.

Internews’ Earth Journalism Network, with support from the Paul M. Angell Foundation, is hosting a virtual media workshop on covering marine pollution. The workshop seeks to deepen journalists’ knowledge of the various sources of marine pollution and governance measures aimed at combating them.

During the workshop, journalists will learn about the sources of marine pollution; experts will lead sessions on ocean governance, international treaties and other regulatory measures to curb marine pollution; and participants will discuss storytelling techniques.

The three-day virtual workshop will be held June 20, 21 and 22.

Participants who attend all three days of the workshop will be eligible to apply for a story grant to produce journalistic work following the workshop.

The deadline is May 9.
