Journalists and freelancers in India are eligible for a hybrid training program.
Supported by the U.S. Consulate General, Kolkata, the Journalism Centre on Global Trafficking (JCOGT) offers an intensive six-month training program on Trafficking in Persons (TIP). The media training seeks to increase evidence-based reporting on human rights and human trafficking in India.
Journalists will participate in a series of online and in-person activities to understand public policy, contribute to improving data collection and information exchange on human trafficking, and develop focused articles to raise public awareness.
Participating journalists will also have the opportunity to propose reporting projects. Twenty to 30 journalists with the most competitive proposals will be selected to attend an all-expenses paid, in-person workshop in Kolkata from July 10 to 13.
The deadline is April 24.
