Experienced journalists or copy editors who are fluent in English can apply for this position in Egypt.
Cairo-based Mada Masr is looking for an English-language copy editor, who will work with writers and editors to ensure quality, accuracy and flow of the daily production of news, features, commentary and the Mada Morning Digest, in addition to drafting copy for social media.
Responsibilities include uploading, formatting and publishing all English-language content on the website and social media, as well as conducting style guide research, peer reviews and second reads. The copy editor will also be expected to be on call for news-related emergencies.
Applicants must have strong English writing skills and preferably a reading competency in Arabic (optional), with journalism or general copy editing experience.
The selected candidate is expected to start on Oct. 1 and will benefit from Mada’s internal training program and career development opportunities.
