Local news organizations with a commitment to covering climate can apply for this program.
The Local Media Association (LMA) is launching a partnership with leaders in journalism and climate science to create a news collaborative covering the impacts of climate change at the local level and local solutions.
The program will select 25 media partners, which will be organized around regional “hubs” around key climate impacts such as sea level rise, drought and wildfires.
The selected organizations will gain access to tools, training and data. LMA is also seeking additional funding for a climate reporter position in each of the participating newsrooms.
Applicants must have dedicated resources already in place and a history of climate reporting.
The deadline is Feb. 28.
