Knight Center hosts online course on product management [Worldwide]

Newsroom leaders at all levels can enroll in this four-week course.

The Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas is hosting the Big Online Course (BOC) "Product Management for Newsroom Leaders" April 29 to May 26.

The course is divided into four modules covering: product thinking in the newsroom; ideation: The beginning stages of developing a product strategy; goal-setting and prioritization: the tactics of developing and executing a product strategy; and ethical considerations and challenges.

The instructors are Becca Aaronson, director of product at Chalkbeat; Shannan Bowen, product manager and audience strategist; Emma Carew Grovum, a multiplatform storyteller and product manager; and Cindy Royal, professor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication and director of the Media Innovation Lab at Texas State University.

The course is accessible to anyone with an internet connection.

Registration is ongoing and costs US$95.
