Enthusiastic early-career journalists from underrepresented communities can apply for the 18-month KCRW Report LA Fellowship. KCRA seeks budding-journalists from all backgrounds who stay on top of the news, demonstrate knowledge of Southern California, have some experience (college media accepted) and are pursuing a career in media.
Fellows will contribute to KCRW’s news coverage and show production from day one. They will pitch segment ideas, conduct pre-interviews and learn how to expertly prep a host for exceptional storytelling in a talk show format. They will also research, report, edit and produce original stories for radio, digital and social.
This is a paid full-time fellowship that begins in early September. Benefits are included, as well as placement assistance at the end of the term. The position is based at KCRW in Santa Monica, although the fellow will be expected to work from home approximately half the time.
The application deadline is July 12.
