Local journalists in Sub-Saharan Africa can submit their works and compete for awards.

KAS Media Africa, the Regional Media Program for Sub-Sahara Africa of the German Konrad Adenauer Foundation, is accepting submission for its Award for Local Journalism.

All submissions must have been published in English or French between Oct. 1, 2021 and Oct. 30, 2022. Print, audio and video features on local news, that emphasize the significance of local reporting, presented with a high journalistic standard, are eligible for submission.

Submissions must be accompanied by a description of the genesis of the feature, the media in which it was published and possible reactions by the audiences.

Three winners will be selected and announced at a Local Journalism Conference in Namibia in January 2023.

The deadline for submissions is Nov. 30.
