Journalist-in-residence program open [Central Asia]

Journalists with at least five years of experience from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan can apply for this program.

The Central Asian Journalist-in-Residence Program is part of the Central Asian Media Exchange Program (CAMEX) funded by the U.S. Department of State and implemented by the Meridian International Center in partnership with Texas International Education Consortium (TIEC).

This program brings journalists from across Central Asia to the United States for monthlong work placements at media organizations in Texas and journalism training opportunities at local universities.

The spring 2020 program will be held for approximately four weeks between April and May 2020 and includes a program orientation and closing in Austin, Texas.

Applicants must have a strong command of written, reading and spoken English.

The deadline is Nov. 15.
