Brazilian local news media can apply for funding.
The newly-launched Journalism Support Fund, with support from the Ford Foundation, the International Fund for Public Interest Media (IFPIM), Luminate, Oak Foundation and Open Society Foundations, is seeking applications for their first round of funding. The fund's mission is to strengthen the Brazilian local news ecosystem.
The first round of funding will support 15 news organizations with BRL75,000 to BRL150,000 for a three-year period. Organizations may use these financial resources for operational structure, professional training and any other needs that could amplify their impact.
Selected outlets will also receive mentoring sessions.
The application deadline is May 27.
