Journalists based in the United States can apply for a three-day fellowship.
The National Press Foundation (NPF), in partnership with Arnold Ventures, is offering the Federal Action, Local Impact Journalism Fellowship. The program will teach journalists how to inform their audiences of how the unprecedented changes to funding, operations and policy will affect their communities.
To help journalists dig into these historic shifts in crucial services, from Social Security operations to weather forecasting, the NPF will host experts, analysts and veteran journalists with decades of insider knowledge to brief local news reporters about how to track and report on the impact.
The program will be held in Washington Oct. 7 to 9.
NPF will cover airfare, hotel and some meals for participants.
The deadline is Sept. 2.
