IWMF launches Reproductive Rights Reporting Fund [US]

Posted on May 6, 2022 in Specialized Topics

Women and nonbinary journalists based in the United States can apply for reporting grants up to US$5,000.

The International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) is offering the Reproductive Rights Reporting Fund. This fund supports reporting on reproductive rights across the U.S., including abortion and contraception access, maternal health, health policy and abortion bans.

Priority will be given to reporting projects based in states that would be most affected by the overturn of Roe v. Wade.

Grant funds may be used to cover travel, lodging, and other reporting expenses.

Applicants must have three or more years of professional journalism experience. Teams of journalists with at least 50 percent women and non-binary journalists are also eligible to apply.

Applications will be accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis.
