Black journalists and Black professionals from any field can apply for these grants.

The investigative outlet The Intercept Brasil, in partnership with Conectas Human Rights, Data Privacy Brazil and Data Labe, has launched its Tech Investigative Grants for Black People.

The outlet is seeking investigative story proposals that address how the inappropriate use of new technologies might result in privacy violation, deepening of inequalities, increase in abuse of power perpetrated by governments and threats to democracy.

Applicants are not required to be professional journalists nor have a journalism background.

Ten applicants will be selected for a workshop in which they will get basic training for crafting their story proposal. The four best story ideas will receive a BRL4,500 grant (approx. US$900).

Application deadline is Mar. 6.
